Football History

The earliest record found of a football team at California High School is from 1909 when Jefferson City came to town and "rolled eleven California boys up-hill or down hill, whichever way they were headed, the final score being 46 to 0" according to the October 21, 1909 Moniteau County Herald. It is not known if that was the only season of football at the time or when California quit fielding a team.

The California Pintos started playing football in the fall of 1959. They joined Tri-County conference foes Camdenton, Eldon, Tipton, Versailles and Osage in starting football that year.
